KitchenAid Food Processor & Recipe
I received this KitchenAid Food Processor as a gift this past Christmas and I don’t know how I ever lived without one! It’s a large 12 cup food processor that comes with a 4 cup mini bowl which is really useful for smaller chopping jobs. I use it all the time to chop veggies and make gourmet hamburger blends. If you have a foodie in your life who needs one – consider giving it as a gift, they will love you!
Here’s my favorite food processor recipe – Spicy Hummus
- 1 can of chickpeas drained – reserve the liquid to add to the mixture
- 2 garlic cloves rough chopped
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon each of cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper – add more or less of each depending on your taste
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Pita bread
Add chickpeas, garlic, splash of olive oil, spices, lemon juice and splash of chickpea liquid to the processor and mix. Continue to add additional chickpea liquid and olive oil until you reach the consistency you like. Taste mixture and add salt and pepper plus more of each spice until you like the outcome. Serve in a bowl sprinkled with paprika and olive oil drizzled on top and pita on the side. (I don’t add Tahini to the mix so that anyone with seed allergies can eat it)
